Bosinver Farm

A place where families can stay, play and enjoy wide-open spaces.

Imagine a place where families can stay, play and enjoy wide-open spaces with their children.ย  A place that couples can come to connect and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, or larger groups can simply pamper themselves for the weekend or even longer!

A little piece of Cornish heaven

Laid out much like a small hamlet, Bosinver truly is a magical place. Set in a tranquil valley not far from the south coast, our 20 holiday cottages sit in 35 acres of wildflower meadows and beautifully landscaped gardens.

Our Cottagesโ€ฆ. Luxury at its very best

When it comes to luxury holiday cottages, Bosinver has it covered; from eco homes to carefully converted former farmhouses, each of our cottages has been individually designed with luxury in mind.ย  With stylish interiors and open plan living spaces, no matter which of our cottages you choose, we know youโ€™ll enjoy every detail weโ€™ve lovingly put in place for you.

Donโ€™t just take our word for it; all of our cottages have been rated 4* or 5* Gold by Quality in Tourism assessors, so you can rest assured youโ€™re in good hands.

A little bit of history

Thereโ€™s a rich tapestry of history at Bosinver โ€“ the settlement here was mentioned in the Doomsday book and our oldest and largest cottage (Bosinver Farmhouse, left) has its origins in the 16thย century. (Whilst it looks old, our other picture-perfect thatched cottage Coliza was built much more recently in 2003!)

Some of our cottages were once busy farm buildings; milk was collected, separated and prepared for market in Trerose and Jacks Barn, whilst Polclay wasย once a stable for carthorses and Pentree was where the carts were stored!

Farmer Dave still has and uses the lovely old โ€˜Fergieโ€™ tractor and trailer which were on the farm in the 1940s when the Tremlett family farmed here!

โ€˜Well Closeโ€™ and โ€˜Higher Hillโ€™ take their names from the fields they adjoin, with our other cottages named after the shrubs growing nearby (Olearia, Veronica, Laburnum, Hydrangea, Buddleia, Rose, Apple, Pear and Cherry), their location (Hillside) or outlook (Valley View).

Lowen โ€“ our eco-cottage and the jewel in the Bosinver crown, was built in 2011 as a zero-carbon house fit for the 21st century. Lowen means โ€˜happyโ€™ in Cornish and also reflects its sustainable low-energy usage. Its structure was built using traditional methods from reclaimed timber and lime rendered straw bales but its renewable energy technologies are truly up to date โ€“ the cottage is energy self-sufficient, with PV panels and a ground source heat pump to provide electricity, heating and hot water to the house. Lowen generates enough electricity to power itself plus two other cottages and send energy back to the grid.

Reuse and recycle
it's how we live

We have a beautiful old Fergie tractor and trailer which Farmer Dave found on the farm back in the 1940s and which is still going strong today!ย
