Fishing

Our lake is great for a Sunday afternoon with the kids

Our lake is mostly for conservation and wildlife, and it’s great for a Sunday afternoon session with the kids. But our fish aren’t really much of a challenge: they jump out of the water onto your line as soon as you throw some bait in.

So if you’re serious about fishing, you might prefer to go a little further afield.

River Fishing

Bodmin Anglers

The salmon fishing season is open until mid-December on the River Camel. You can buy a temporary membership allowing you to fish (by the day or week). They also have a small beat on the River Fowey where you can catch salmon and sea trout. Contact Bodmin Anglers to find out more.

Sea Angling

Fancy trying deep sea fishing? We recommend a trip on the Aquila, which leaves from nearby Mevagissey. Skipper/owner Chris is well-respected in the area and has been fishing off the south coast of Cornwall for years. They provide all rods, tackle and bait. Trips last for 6 hours and cost £40 per adult or £34 for under 18s. Bookings through Active-8 or call 01579 320848
