Grown up getways in Cornwall

Two adults running through the sand dunes in Cornwall on a sunny day.

Escape to Cornwall this autumn for a grown up getaway. While the temperature has dropped and the days are growing shorter, autumn brings with it a host of sensory delights. Itโ€™s a magical time of year when you can indulge your inner child. Rediscover the simple pleasures of kicking your way through piles of crunchy, colourful leaves, collecting conkers in the woods, or listening to the fizz and crackle of fireworks as they light up the night sky.

Wrap up warm and head to the coast to enjoy long walks on the beach โ€“ or if youโ€™re feeling adventurous, go surfing, kayaking or sailing. With cheeks aglow and windswept hair, head back indoors to sit by the fire in a cosy pub and relax.

Here our our suggestions for fantastic autumn activities in Cornwall

Sink back and relax

Thereโ€™s nothing quite like sinking in to a Jacuzzi or treating yourself to a little pampering. There are several great spas in Cornwall, including the Bedruthan Hotel and The Scarlet Hotel (both just outside Newquay) and The Cornwall Hotel and Spa (just down the road from us at Bosinver) where you can let all your cares float away. All offer a variety of treatments and special packages for couples.

Surfers camping

Go sunset spotting

Head to one of Cornwallโ€™s west-facing beaches and watch the sky turns pink, gold and orange as the sun goes down โ€“ try Godrevy, Porthtowan, Perranporth, Mawgan Porth, Watergate Bay or Bedruthan Steps. For a really indulgent evening, book at table for dinner at Jamie Oliverโ€™s Fifteen Cornwall at Watergate Bay and enjoy a romantic, sumptuous five or seven course tasting menu.

Grab your walking boots

Sunny autumn days are perfect for walking in Cornwall. There are miles of coast path and woodland walks just waiting to be explored. Take a look at the South West Coast Path website for some seasonal inspiration.
