Here at Bosinver we have our own lake, which has rudd and tench in it. However, fishing is not a priority here as we are trying to encourage a diversity of wildlife, both flora and fauna and the lake is home to a remarkable variety of species. We are quite happy for you to fish at any time, no licences are required but for the really serious fishermen our fish are not really much of a challenge as they jump out of the water onto your line as soon as you throw some bait in - ideal for encouraging youngsters though! The attraction of Cornwall is that the salmon fishing season extends until mid-December on the River Camel. Contact Bodmin Anglers on 01208 75513. Salmon and sea trout are also available on the River Fowey Contact Chris Marwood on 01398 371384.
Only a mile or so from Bosinver is Glenleigh Farm fishery. In their lake they have Carp, tench, rudd, roach and eels. Contact Mr. Tregunna on 01726 73154.
Whiteacres, near Newquay is very highly rated as some huge specimens have been caught here, they offer a wide range of all species. Open all year. Contact 0800 389 3845.
East Rose Farm, St Breward near Bodmin. Mixed fishing with some access for the disabled. Carp to 14lb in deep pool. No closed season. Contact Veronica Stansfield 01208 850674.
Closest to us is Orvis Innis Trout Fishery, approx. 5 miles. Rainbow trout, open all year. Contact Mrs. Pam Winch 01726 851162, Fenwick Trout Fishery, Dunmere near Bodmin. Two acre lake plus river fishing Rainbows and brown trout. Contact David Thomas 01208 78296. Also East Rose Farm as above.
