Happy New Year from Bosinver Farm Cottages

Hello everybody and Happy New Year. It has been some time now since I have managed to write my Bosinver Blog and there are many reasons for the delay. Number one is that I was expecting my new website to go live any time from June onwards and despite waiting and waiting there have been interminable delays and it is still not finished. Having spoken to lots of people it would seem that this is the norm for new websites- especially one as large as Bosinver. Another good reason is that I have been in hospital being mended with a new hip! I still do not have the go ahead to drive but things are getting better every day and I am less and less reliant on my crutches and can't wait to get back on my bike!

We have had a very busy Summer and Autumn at Bosinver Farm Cottages and looking out from my window at white fields and icy roads it seems a long time ago now.
One of the highlights of the year was being able to let the ducks and chickens roam free again. Our rogue fox met his demise and it is such a joy to see the poultry warndering around the place. Dave was even persuaded to go to a local poultry sale and restock with new blood so we have some very fancy girls and boys for you all to take photos of.
Chalky was joined by a new little boy pygmy goat called Spike. He is full of energy and dashes around like a mad thing under Chalky's watchful eye and they have become inseparable - he just needs to learn some of Chalky's manners!

Another piece of great news is that Bosinver Farm Cottages is voted top UK travel destination on the very popular website www.mumsnet.com. Just go to Product reviews, UK travel and then the list will appear. These are genuine unedited comments and we are so proud that so many of you have had great holidays, love this place and want to return.
Christmas and New Year came and went with some very happy holidaymakers having experienced mostly cold and dry weather without getting snowed in so travelling about and going for long, blustery beach walks pub meals by roaring log fires were all made possible.

Well what to look forward to at Bosinver in 2010, a new decade and our 12th year here??

Dave is busy revamping Trerose cottage. It will have a whole new feel with a beautiful round window looking over the fields and a more open aspect. Giant reclaimed wooden beams have been installed and I have great plans of the interior too. Watch this space for news on our progress.

Hillside, Valley View and Laburnum have had new kitchens and Veronica a new bathroom and the Farmhouse kitchen is being fitted with some beautiful wooden windows in the kitchen made by George Edyvean, our fantastic local carpenter. The sauna and changing rooms have undergone a dramatic (and not before time!) transformation and we have been upgrading our central heating boilers to more efficient ones with greener credentials. Wherever possible I search out eco friendly products for our farm cottages and have even managed to find recycled plastic cubicles for the changing rooms.

So - everything pretty much as normal here and we are all looking forward to another busy year and welcoming old and new customers to share the magic and tranquility of beautiful  Bosinver.
