Mums are extra special people and deserve a treat on Mothering Sunday. We are offering a free facial with our new local therapist Chrissie Drew for every 3+ night booking which includes Mothering Sunday (March 22nd) Just type in MOS in the offer code box when booking your holiday. Our new frozen meals service from cracking cook, Rachel will ensure that Muim can also relax with the food preparation taken care of. We also have our 3 nights for the price of 2 offer running until the end of March, so why not spoil a loved one and have a romantic break in Cornwall, enjoying bracing walks along the glorious coastline and beaches when they are not crowded. Most of the attractions and restaurants will be open then and even though spring is a little late this year, you will be guaranteed of a showing of Cornwall's wild flowers in the hedgerows and the beautiful magnolias and camelias in the famous gardens we have locally, such as Caerhayes, Trewithen, Heligan and Lanhydrock.
Here at Bosinver Farm Cottages, work is well under way on the extension of Well Close cottage. Whilst Paul the builder was working on the roof, he found an enormous wasps' nest - bigger than any of us had seen before - it was a work of art and an amazing sight to behold. We have tried to preserve it for you all to see but it was very delicate and difficult to manoeuvre! We have rebuilt the en suite bathroom in Olearia to make it easier for our disabled guests with special needs and to look very special too! Alan and
Tony, our painters have been smartening up the place and the farmhouse doors are now bright red.
It snowed in Cornwall at the beginning of February and it caused absolute chaos. The roads were icy and traffic ground to a standstill. All the schools were closed for a day and it was wonderful to see the children throwing snowballs and building snowmen - quite a rarity in Cornwall. The big children at Bosinver managed to build our own snowman outside Coliza cottage!(1).jpg)
We were busy during February half term and the weather was dry and sunny all week so everyone was able to get out and do things. Most guests ventured down to the beach and the children dug sandcastles with their coats and boots on and didn't notice that it wasn't summer at all! Ellie Brett presented us with a painted slate as a parting gift at the end of the week. We were amazed at how beautiful it was and how clever she is. It will be proudly displayed
in the farm cottages this summer.
Must get back to the spring cleaning now - I have a lovely new duster made of real ostrich feathers and am quite excited about using it! That's a sad admission but I love E cloths too. Looking forward to spring and welcoming friends back to Bosinver.
Speak soon.
