Bosinver Farm Cottages reach the awards finals again!

We have just had confirmation that we are in the finals of both these prestigious awards again! Thank you to all our Bosinver visitors who voted for us earlier this year. David and I are overwhelmed that Bosinver Farm Cottages has been selected again in the face of stiff competition from the high quality tourism businesses we have in the region. The ceremonies are on the 29th October and 22nd November so we will keep you posted via the blog when we know the final results.

Cornwall's Indian summer has continued with glorious sunshine and the county looking beautiful as the autumn colours glow in the hedgerows. We have some availability in the farm cottages for autumn short breaks and weekend getaways at great prices this time of year. (Look out for special offers and short breaks on the home page) Why don't some of you head down to Cornwall and do some coast path walking, cycling or just relaxing, reading a book in front of a cosy log fire? You will have the beaches to yourselves, no problems parking and guaranteed rest and a recharge of your batteries, Next weekend sees the Falmouth Oyster festival, with lots going on around the town with celebrity chefs doing demonstrations and of course plenty of  Falmouth Bay oysters and Guiness.

We have been taking advantage of some gaps in farm cottage lets to keep up with ongoing maintence. Paul and Dave have just ripped the plaster off the farmhouse wall next to the well as it has always been damp to discover that gaps in the plaster and paving outside had almost created a river whenever it rained. It's all been put back together now complete with brand new wooden sash window to replace a dire plastic survivor  from the 70's revamp!

We have also had Trevor the digger in to do a bit of landscaping around the toddler play barn. We finished the barn in May when we were busy and it rained a lot so couldn't do the outside work so now the ground is dry, we have replaced the soil behind the wall and plan to plant a screen of trees to enhance the view and redress our carbon footprint a little!

Next week is the school half term break so we are gearing up for a busy time and organising the Halloween pumpkin party, which has become a tradition for regular guests at this time of year. No doubt some of the star creations and costumes will appear in the next blog.

Speak soon.

Pat
