Playbarn at Bosinver

We have now added a super new play barn and gym facility for our youngest customers and their Mums and Dads. It is a beautiful converted granite barn with huge oak beams and a wall of glass facing south.

Inside the building is light and airy with bespoke soft play equipment at one end. There are tubes to crawl though, holes to drop down, biff bash mats, a whirly slide and a spinning disc plus some Little Tikes bikes to rush around on. The floor is covered with mats to ensure soft landings and we have provided a comfy leather sofa for Mums and Dads to relax on whilst their little ones tire themselves out! Attention to detail is our watchword here at Bosinver and the play barn is no exception. The walls are decorated with original artwork by talented children, gleaned from our farm cottage visitors' books and skillfully translated and transferred to the walls by Falmouth artist Sue Weller. The pictures feature our Bosinver animals and our world through childrens. eyes, which we thought was most apt.

Outside the barn is a slate paved area with seating built into the granite walls. Our creative juices were flowing now and spurred on by Paul our builder and Pat's unfulfilled desire to make a mosaic, we launched into the patio project! It consists of random slates infilled with pictures and patterns made with pebbles, stones, terracotta and tesserae of broken china, ceramic tiles and bits from ex display boards that our friend Steve at Nicobond Tile company allowed us to beg, steal and borrow. It was very time consuming and challenging to us but once we had started everyone was inspired and we had a queue of budding artists (guests, staff, family and passers by!) who joined in and made their mark. Running short of slate made us even more creative and we also managed to squeeze in a chess board and a hopscotch game! It was enormous fun and judging by the comments from our guests so far, it makes them smile too.

We have also incorporated some Life Fitness gym equipment into the barn so energetic fitness fanatics can work out whilst watching their little ones play.

So far, our Bosinver customers have been delighted with this building as it enables little ones to be entertained for the odd hour or so whilst meals are being prepared, before bed or when the weather is inclement. The biggest problem seems to be removing the children in order to eat, sleep or go out!
