Bosinver Farm Cottages celebrates a special occasion

We took over Bosinver Farm Cottages on 4th July 1998 as an existing business, which was in need of some love and attention. It was mainly a chalet park, with a few cottages, set in beautiful grounds in its little hidden valley between St Austell and Mevagissey. When we drove in, we felt as if was a little village or hamlet - without the shop or pub and came up with the idea to try and develop a site which felt like a village and replace the chalets with houses and farm cottages of different styles, as if they had evolved over the years. It has certainly proved a big challenge and our timescale to do it over 10 years was pretty spot on. It seems as if the dream we had is also shared by our guests, many of whom return year after year and the many awards we have received confirm that the powers that be in the tourism industry here in the South West also think that Bosinver is a great place to stay.

American Independence Day has made it easy to remember the date over the years and for this decade birthday we celebrated with a cake and thanks and pats on the back for many many people who have helped us achieve our dream, from our loyal and supportive staff to our many service providers and especially our bank manager!

The photo shows some of our families staying on the 4th July 2008, after animal feeding, congragated around the new play combine harvester. We are always being asked 'What are you going to build next?' as our guests are used to seeing big changes over the past 10 years. We have no plans for any more big building projects as we feel that more cottages would spoil the great 'feel' of the place - each cottage having views and privacy, space to roam in, individual attention and personal input from us but we will be running an ongoing programme of updating and improvements but we never say 'never' so who knows what will pop into our heads next to provide our guests with an even more enjoyable holiday? Watch this space!!!

Speak soon,

Pat
