Easter and Spring breaks at Bosinver Farm Cottages
The Cornish countryside is looking a picture as daffodils line our hedgerows and the magnolias, camelias and azaleas
compete for the best displays in our gardens. Spring is a beautiful time of year in Cornwall as we are usually well ahead of the rest of the country due to our mild winters,
Here at Bosinver we are making our final preparations for the Easter weekend, when we are fully booked. The farm cottages are all looking very smart after their winter redecorations and refitting and Apple's porch/conservatory extension is now complete and looking good. The farmhouse has had major work done with a new oak floor in the lounge and a granite worktop in the kitchen.
We have two new additions to the Bosinver family - they are little fluffy Fallabella ponies, Oscar and Muffin- miniatures, even smaller than Rupert. Secret has secured his role as team leader and they are all getting along very well.
Bosinver Farm Cottages has joined the Green Tourism Business Scheme and we had our inspection last Tuesday. We have to demonstrate green actions in over 120 measures throughout our business here, from recycling, cleaning materials, local purchasing and monitoring our energy consumption. We have always tried to make our business sustainable and all our guests are encouraged to help us by recycling and composting and not wasting energy. We will be awarded bronze, silver or gold according to our score - we will hear in about a month so will keep you posted.
I expect you all had a taste of the recent storms and gales. Cornwall had the first taste of it and on Monday morning many places were flooded as a high tide and low pressure combined to attack our coasts. Luckily Bosinver is on high ground so we weren't flooded but we lost several slates from roofs and branches from trees but nothing more serious thank goodness.
Well I must get back to work now, sprucing the place up for you all to enjoy.
All the best,
Pat
