Hello Everyone

I expect all you regular Bosinver visitors are chomping at the bit for me to get my act together with the latest update. Well here it is, along with the new website I have been promising for so long. Do hope you like it.

Work is progressing very well with Higher Hill but it still has scaffolding up so good photos will have to wait until next time. It has been a very difficult project as it on the side of steep field and getting materials in and out has proved very difficult, especially in the wet weather. Dave nearly turned the tractor and trailer over last week as it lost control and started sliding down the hill. Fortunately he had just tipped some granite lintels in the field and was able to steer himself into them and come to a stop! Here’s a picture of him and Helen loading building stone onto the trailer.

We are very busy with lots of our regular guests who love to visit at this time of year to savour the beautiful wild flowers in the hedgerows as well as the stunning famous gardens. The lane has been a picture, as has the lake and the rhodedendrons.

Mother Nature has also been busy and the fields are teeming with rabbits.

They are so tame and just sit in the gardens, grudgingly acknowledging our presence with an ear twitch or two as they nibble our expensive bedding plants! We have a squirrel called Cyril who is in the habit of putting his front two paws up to Hillside’s patio doors asking for nuts. We have had 2 lots of new arrivals on the poultry scene this week – our little bantam has hatched out 7 chicks and one of the Indian runner duck has 10 baby ducklings, which she promptly took for a walk in the buttercups, which must have seemed like the Amazon jungle to them as they tried to keep up with her.

We have just added another facility to Bosinver – our boot and coat drying room. It is in the sauna building next to the pool and is ideal for drying out wet clothes – from the weather or children’s over enthusiasm!

As usual I am dashing off to keep the wheels turning – ironing this time.

Best wishes to you all. Pat
